Routine Maintenance

We recommend our patients have their teeth cleaned anywhere from 2-4 times a year. Our routine maintenance procedures include periodontal probing which along with x-rays and an exam will help determine the health of your tissues. A routine maintenance removes plaque and light calculus from your teeth and underneath your gums. Both hand and ultrasonic instruments may be used for this procedure, which is followed by polishing the teeth.

Missing teeth can lead to a multitude of problems, from bite problems to speech difficulties. A dental bridge is used if you have one or two missing teeth. A bridge is a false tooth supported on either side by one or two porcelain crowns. Our cosmetic dentists use bridges to aesthetically eliminate the gap of a missing tooth or teeth, thereby giving you back your beautiful and fully functional teeth again.

Inlays & Onlays

They restore areas of a tooth that are damaged by decay or trauma. Inlays and onlays are crafted in the dental lab from hard ceramic material and permanently cemented to the tooth. Inlays fill cavities in the middle of the tooth surface, and onlays restore a damaged cusp to provide added support. These premium dental restorations can last for many years providing you with a beautiful smile.

Sealants are used to protect your healthy molars from cavities. Usually sealants are done in children starting at age 6 and going up to age 12. A sealant is a clear or whitish coating that goes on top of your teeth to act as a barrier against bacteria and plaque and may reduce the possibility of getting a cavity. Adults may choose to have sealants placed on their molars as well.

Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. That’s because dentures make it easier to eat and speak better than you could without teeth.

When considering tooth fillings, one of the options available are composite fillings which are made from durable plastics that are similar in color to natural teeth.  Another benefit of tooth-colored fillings is that they are compatible with sealants allowing your dentist to perform both procedures in a single sitting preventing further decay.

Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection of the gums and tissues that support your teeth. It is caused most often by the build-up of plaque and tartar when teeth are not routinely brushed and flossed. Other contributors to this disease include medical issues such as diabetes and consuming too much sugary food or drinks. We are highly recognized for our outstanding treatments for periodontal disease.

Scaling & Root Planing

Scaling and root planing is an extension of a routine hygiene maintenance appointment. If we recommend scaling and root planing for our patients then it is evident that you have more build up and inflammation that is done in our routine cleanings. This appointment may require anesthesia to keep you comfortable and it may require anywhere from 2-5 appointments depending on the severity of your condition. We not only use hand instruments but incorporate an ultrasonic scaler as well.

Laser Therapy

Laser procedures can be more precise. Also, lasers can reduce symptoms and healing times associated with traditional therapies; reduce the amount of bacteria in both diseased gum tissue and in tooth cavities; and control bleeding during surgery.

Medicinal Oral Irrigation

Oral irrigation aims to cleanse plaque from the interdental (between teeth) and subgingival (under the gumline) regions of the mouth in order to prevent the colonization of harmful oral bacteria.  Oral irrigation is a versatile dental treatment used for several different preventative purposes.  Oral irrigation may be performed as part of a professional dental cleaning. General Dentistry in Valencia

Cosmetic Fillings

Do you have a beautiful smile, but afraid to show it because you have silver fillings? Then consider replacing your old silver fillings with non metal fillings, or composites. For years cavities and other tooth defects were fixed with silver amalgam fillings. Today, our office takes pride in the new advances in dentistry and uses tooth colored, composite resin fillings.

Veneers are a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface. They are used to either improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect a damaged tooth surface. Your dentist will use either one veneer to restore a single tooth, that may have been fractured or discolored, or multiple teeth to create the smile of your dreams.

In-office Whitening

Have you ever wanted whiter teeth but thought it would be too expensive? This procedure is done in over one hour in our dental office. In-office Whitening will give back the whiter color that your teeth deserve now, while at the same time being a safe and effective product which will give you instant results.

Now, you can get straighter teeth without the use of traditional metal braces. Your Invisalign treatment will consist of a series of customized aligners that you switch out about every two weeks. Since your Invisalign system is custom-made for your teeth only, and a plan devised by you and your dentist or orthodontist, you know you will end up with a beautiful smile.

Sedation Dentistry

Most dental cases can be done under local anesthesia alone or some- times in conjunction with an oral sedative and nitrous oxide sedation. However, certain complex cases, anxious patients, and children may require a more controlled and deeper level of anesthesia. The degree of anesthesia in such cases can vary between moderate-deep sedation and general anesthesia. Deep sedation reduces consciousness, pain and anxiety while maintaining the patient’s ability to respond to commands. On the other hand, general anesthesia provides a temporary loss of consciousness which may be necessary in certain cases. Dr. Hussain is exceptionally well trained at providing all levels of anesthesia so that your dentist can fully focus on your oral surgical procedure. This allows for a safer, more predictable and comfortable experience for both the patient and the dentist. General Dentistry in Valencia

Why is anesthesia necessary?

Extensive rehabilitative dentistry, such as dental implants in conjunc- tion with bone grafting and considerable crown and bridge work, can be tiresome for the patient and challenging for the dentist who wishes to provide quality dentistry. Intravenous sedation provides increased patient comfort, excellent working conditions for the dentist and it can save you, and your busy schedule, the inconveniences of multiple visits.

How do you treat uncooperative patients?

General anesthesia can be an adjunct to treatment for uncooperative children and/or mentally/physically handicapped patients. Usually the fear of a protracted dental treatment and multiple local anesthetic shots can make an otherwise cooperative child into a frightened and inconsolable patient. General anesthesia can help alleviate these anxi- eties in the face of extensive dental work. Children have natural fears of the unknown. Anything you can do to relieve these anxieties (bring a favorite blanket or toy) will greatly improve your child’s experience. Like adults, children tolerate surgery and anesthesia better when they are well prepared. Reassure your child by explaining everything before- hand. Although it is natural for parents to have anxiety when their children are about to have surgery, it is best not to convey this to your child. Your composure as a parent is essential. Nothing calms a child more than a con dent parent.

What if I have a pre-existing medical condition?

Many patients may have chronic medical conditions, such as diabe- tes, renal failure, heart or lung problems that can make routine dental work challenging in the conventional dental of ce setting. These conditions may necessitate careful monitoring of vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate) during the procedure. Addition- ally, intravenous sedation may be provided in order to control pain, anxiety and the deleterious physiological responses, such as elevated blood pressure and heart rate, that accompany them.

Is it safe?

Safety is our ultimate goal. Dr. Hussain continually strives to provide his patients with an unparalleled level of safety. He has the most current, well maintained and organized anesthesia equipment in the industry. During his free time he reads extensively to maintain his knowledge of the most current advancements and treatment modalities in his eld. You can rest assured that Dr. Hussain will provide you with a safe, controlled and hospital grade anesthetic experience in the comfort of your dentist’s of ce.

What happens during surgery?

Your anesthesiologist, Dr. Hussain, is responsible for your comfort and well-being and will continuously monitor your response to anesthe- sia and surgery. Monitoring devices will be attached, such as a blood pressure cuff, an EKG, and pulse oximetry nger probe to monitor your oxygen level. For children, the mother and father can stay with their child until the child is comfortable and ready for his/her procedure.

When will I be able to go home?

Patients usually go home between 15-30 minutes after procedure. When you can go home is determined by your medical condition and how you have responded to your surgery and anesthesia. You will be released to go home with a reliable family member or friend once it is OK for you to leave.

Our general dentists prevent, evaluate, diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity to maintain the function and appearance of teeth. Working with dental hygienists and specialists, general dentists diagnose and treat problems using advanced techniques and technologies.
