Dental Implants Valencia
Our office is a one stop shop for implant dental services. This is a sharp contrast to many general dentists who refer their implant surgery patients to an entirely different dental office. It is comforting for the patient to know that we perform all surgical implant procedures for the benefit of the patient. By having both surgeons and a restorative dentists, many of the problems associated with multiple doctor approach to dental care can be avoided. Patients find it very reassuring to know who exactly is responsible for all aspects of their dental treatment. Additionally, you will have the convenience of having all your work performed at one location, our state of the art dental facility, supported by a highly trained and caring staff.
Using the most recent advances in dental implant technology, we are able to place single stage implants. These implants do not require a second procedure to uncover them, but do require a minimum of six weeks of healing time before artificial teeth are placed. There are even situations where the implant can be placed at the same time as the tooth extraction – further minimizing your number of surgical procedures.
What are Dental Implants
Simply, dental implants are titanium posts with a false tooth (or teeth) attached on top. They are embedded into the patient’s jawbone in order to create a strong, long-lasting replacement for missing teeth.
An individual crown, bridge, or denture can then be cemented to the portion of the post which protrudes above the gum line. Among the other alternatives to replace missing teeth, dental implants offer the most stability and long-term results.
Few people, outside of patients who have received one, are aware of just how great a dental implant can be. For starters, dental implants are based on a simple grounding philosophy. Since the root of the tooth is the grounding for the tooth, the dental implants we use provide the same level of strength and security to the new dental crown that we place over them. Additionally, the root has a very important and symbiotic relationship with your jawbone, which works to help in stabilizing the tooth itself. Our tiny titanium implants mimic this relationship perfectly. What this does for you is it creates a circumstance where your new tooth is strongly grounded in an implant that is literally a perfect non-biological imitation of your root. As such you can eat anything that you would normally eat, without fear of causing unnecessary damage to your new implant or crown.
How Dental Implants Work
Placing the implant
The dental implant, usually a cylindrical and/or tapered post made of titanium, is surgically placed into the jawbone.
Installing the abutment
Once the implant is settled in, your surgeon will then install a post known as an abutment into the implant.
Restoration
Finally, a prosthetic tooth will be created and attached to the implants to restore natural functionality and aesthetics.
Faster Recovery for Dental Implants than Most Offices
FDA cleared advanced technology that accelerates healing for dental implants
Baywood Dental Group is one of the only dental offices in Valencia utilizing state-of-the-art equipment capable of accelerating the healing period for dental implants. The Interspin system is the only medical device approved by the FDA to produce leukocyte and platelet rich fibrin. This dramatically reduces the requirements necessary for patients to become candidates for dental implants.
Our Implant Technology
The digital age has brought great change to our office. With the help of technology we see deeper and remember more, with corresponding benefit to our patients. Laser-assisted procedures are new. Computer-aided design is new. Digital imaging is getting better. New diagnostic procedures and instruments are changing our world at our office every year and patient care gets ever better as a result.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Why are dental implants the best option?
Dental implants offer our patients a secured, aesthetically pleasing approach to replace a missing tooth, restoring the ability to eat most foods, and to smile with confidence. Implants will not affect surrounding teeth like traditional bridges, and unlike removable dentures, there is no risk of the implants slipping out of place. When treatment is complete, implants remain a stable and durable part of your smile. They also stop the bone loss that occurs where a tooth is missing and help to preserve the bone mass and density around the implant site.
Don’t Be Afraid of Dental Implants
Going to the dentist for any kind of procedure can be nerve-wracking and induce anxiety in even the toughest of us. Who doesn’t feel mildly uncomfortable when they’re waiting their turn in the dentist’s chair with the sound of drill hitting bone coming from the next room? Dental implants are the best tooth replacement method available right now and are much more clean and appealing than alternative methods. That is why it is important to understand how uneventful and painless this procedure is so you feel confident and relaxed about choosing to treat yourself to an amazing smile that will last you a lifetime.
Are Dental Implants Safe?
Millions of people have received dental implants, most with very high rates of success. Dental implants are made of titanium and bind to your jaw bones via a process called osseointegration. This means the metal screw which serves as the dental implant binds to the bone and becomes a very solid, sturdy attachment. If this method was not safe and reliable, it would not be the tooth replacement procedure with the highest rate of recommendations from dental health care professionals with millions of success stories to back it up.
I’m afraid dental implants will hurt
We hear this a lot. It’s the main concern people have about a lot of dental treatment, but with dental implants you don’t need to worry. You will be under anesthesia during the entire procedure and won’t feel a thing.
When anesthesia wears off, the discomfort isn’t bad, either. Most people get by with just over-the-counter pain medications. If you have anxiety about this, though, we can prescribe a stronger medication for the first week or so.
If your anxiety proves too strong and you find you cannot overcome your fear of going to the dentist or getting oral surgery, local anesthesia may prove too ineffective. In these cases, a sedative or anti-anxiety medication may be offered to you so that you are able to proceed.
Once your implants complete healing, you won’t feel any discomfort from normal, healthy implants.
I’ll have to get a lot of implants
What’s scarier than getting an implant? Getting a lot of implants. But don’t worry: you likely won’t have to get a lot of dental implants. We can use fewer dental implants than the number of natural teeth you lost. In fact, replacing all your teeth on either the top or bottom may take only four implants.
I’ll have a gap in my smile while the implant heals
If you’ve started studying dental implants, you know that the dental implant process can take a while. You may worry that you’ll have a big hole in your smile at that time. But many people can get a crown put on their dental implants right away. Other people can wear a temporary denture or get a temporary bridge. The key is: you never have to have a gap in your smile.
My implants will fail, and I’ll have to do it again
For many people, the fear of dental implants gets worse when they think that they might have to do the procedure multiple times in the future, but let us calm that fear, too. Dental implants have a very high success rate, often 95% in the first 10 years, and over 90% (sometimes as high as 95%, too) when measured out to 20 years, the longest studies currently available (though individual reports of dental implants lasting 40 years or more are out there). The odds are very good that one dental implant procedure is all that you’ll need in your life.
I can’t help being afraid
For many people, dental phobia is completely irrational, so going through all these reasons won’t have any impact on your ability to come in and get your procedure done. But if this is you, we have an option that can help: sedation dentistry. This can calm your anxiety and help you overcome your fears to get the dentistry that you know you want and that you know is best for you.

It will take too long to heal
Implant treatments range from the immediate replacement of an extracted tooth to over 4 months when jaw surgery and bone grafting is needed. The average treatment is three to four months. Most of the time required to complete implant treatment is taken up just waiting for the bone to fuse completely with the implant. This usually takes a few months and goes on below the gum line without any feeling or awareness. In more complex cases treatment may be longer.
Is Age a Factor?
No, there are no age restrictions for dental implants.
Will I need to have Bone Grafting?
Firstly, the great news is that innovative techniques, many of which we have developed ourselves here at Baywood Dental Group, mean that many patients can avoid any kind of bone grafting altogether – even if you have been told you need this by others.
When it is necessary, we use many different materials for bone grafting, which are chosen on a case-by-case basis as the best material for each patient. However, we now use synthetic, laboratory-made materials more and more, replacing the need for cow-derived products almost completely. These synthetic products are rapidly replaced by the body’s own bone, meaning that they disappear completely from the body within a few months.
What is the success rate of dental implants
Baywood Dental Group dental implants have an extremely high average success rate (99.2%).†
Really, getting dental implants installed is nothing to get worked up over. The process starts with an initial consultation where x-rays and molds of your teeth are taken. This ensures correct placement of your implant and dental prosthesis. The procedure itself involves your dental professional cutting open your gums, drilling a hole into your jaw bone, then screwing in your dental implant. You are then stitched up, sent home to heal up, and brought back in a few weeks later to have your crown attached. Simple, easy, and painless, thanks to the anesthesia.
